Beth and I recently took a much-needed weekend escape to Ferris Provincial Park, and it was exactly what we both needed. Getting away from the busyness of everyday life and soaking up some fresh air together always resets the mind, and Ferris turned out to be the perfect place to do just that.
Our day was filled with exploring the park’s gems, starting with the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. Walking across, with the river rushing below and the forest stretching out around us, was absolutely breathtaking. Just a short walk away, Ranney Falls was equally stunning — the sound of the falls paired with the natural beauty of the scenery made it a highlight of the trip.
By the time we got back to camp, we were ready to relax. We cracked open a refreshing adult beverage and kicked back before starting dinner. On the menu was a simple but amazing camp meal: Tomato Basil Pasta. It came together quickly and easily, but sitting there outdoors, it tasted like something out of a restaurant.
Even though there was a fire ban in place, we didn’t let that stop us from enjoying the atmosphere. We set up some flickering flame-like lights in the fire pit to create that cozy campfire glow. ( link to lights ) Later, we capped off the night with an outdoor movie under the stars — the perfect way to wind down.
Ferris Provincial Park gave us a weekend full of beautiful views, great food, and quiet moments together. It was exactly the reset we were looking for, and we’ll definitely be making our way back there again.
